This site runs on the BigFeature WordPress theme, which is clean, flexible, and highly customizable. Other things that drew me to the BigFeature theme are the great typography options and user-friendly admin settings.

My WordPress Theme Decision Process

I started working on DeliverBliss.com in late December of last year (2009). After some research online, I chose a free WordPress theme and got busy planning and designing the site.

After more than a month of fiddling with different settings, customizing many of the defaults, and desperately looking for support, I made the decision to start over. The site simply wasn’t what I had envisioned from the beginning.

Another few hours of research led me to my top three “premium” choices:

• The uber-popular Thesis theme
• The awesome BigFeature theme I now use
• A good theme called Convergence

I did some more fishing around and found that the developer behind BigFeature was actively supporting the theme by making videos and participating in an online forum. Further investigation led me to some other sites using the theme and showing off its capabilities. I found it did everything I was looking for, and it was $60 less than than Thesis.

It was a no-brainer at that point.

Some of my favorite features are: built-in cufon fonts, automatic thumbnail images for feature images and videos, and the extensive amount of settings built into the admin settings. I’ve been extremely happy with the BigFeature theme, and would surely make the same choice again.
