Scribe SEO Review

I received an email over the weekend that a big promo for Scribe was ending, so I thought I’d do a Scribe SEO review and let everyone know what I think about the service. I’ve been using Scribe as an SEO content tool for a couple months now.

If you’re already familiar with the product, but have been waiting to pull the trigger, I suggest you head over there before June 4th to get 72% off the Advanced plan. Use the code PROMO27 to get the discount.

The Scribe behind Scribe

Scribe is an offering from Brian Clark, founder of Copyblogger. Brian is one of those A-list bloggers with an attitude, but he knows his stuff and consistently produces great products. He’s one of the reasons I was drawn to the product in the first place; I know he wouldn’t risk his online reputation with a product that didn’t produce results.

If you haven’t already, you should download and read his report titled, How to Create Compelling Content that Ranks Well in Search Engines. There’s a lot of great advice in there.

I’m Not Writing for Search Engines

When I first decided to start a blog about Customer Experience, SEO was the last thing on my mind. I was worried about my web host, my WordPress theme, the site layout, which plugins I needed, and all the content I was going to write.

I knew that SEO was important, but I figured that I could learn as I went and optimize later.

I was wrong.

The fact of the matter is that I have a topic (customer experience) that I’m passionate about and I have a message I want to convey.
The way I see it, the more people I can convey that message to, the better job I’m doing. Organic search traffic is a great way to increase my audience and get the message out.

But I’m Not an SEO Expert, Nor Do I Want to Be

I’ll happily admit that I’m a complete dunce when it comes to SEO. I know that content is only a piece of the pie, but I’d like that piece to be as good as it can be. I’d also like for my topics to appear in searches when someone is looking for them; that’s kind of the point here. :)

So what’s an overworked consultant to do?

I could have spent hours and hours reading and learning about how to write great SEO content, but I couldn’t prioritize that in my day and, quite frankly, that sounds especially boring to me.

Scribe to the Rescue!

When I first started using Scribe, I was amazed at how bad my content was for search engines. I hadn’t a clue what I was doing. No links, bad keywords, wrong tags; the list went on and on. For a lot of this stuff, you don’t need something like Scribe to tell you what you’re doing wrong. What I liked about Scribe was that it was right there in my face detailing each thing that needed to be optimized. The plugin interface loads up right in with your post, so there’s no copy/paste or switching to other pages to get your results.

One of the first posts I used it on was my Social CRM post. I wrote the post and then optimized for the following keywords:

  • Social CRM
  • definition
  • for dummies

Within an hour I was the #1 rank in Google for “Social CRM for Dummies” and “Social CRM dummies.”

I continue to be the #1 rank for those searches and I am now the #3 rank for “Social CRM definition.”

To me, that’s amazing. I never would have been able to do that without Scribe.

I’ve used Scribe on every post since then and I even went back and revised some older posts to optimize for the topic I wrote on. I’m sure there are other tools out there that can do the same thing, but again, the interface and other options it gives you make the difference to me.

I’ve had a couple issues along the way, but I’ve always had great support from the Scribe team. They use Zendesk for their support system and they’ve been very responsive the times I’ve needed help.

Don’t Take My Word For It

Head on over to Scribe and try it out for yourself. They’re offering a 30-day money back guarantee. There’s also a free test drive version that gives you 15 evaluations on one site. It’s a no-lose proposition.

How to get 72% Off!

There’s a great special (the same one I got) running until the end of this week, June 4th. You get the Advanced Plan (300 evaluations per month) for only $27. That’s $70 off the regular price! You can use the evaluations on any website you want and they even have a web-based optimizer that allows you to paste in any content you want and have it analyzed. Don’t forget to use the PROMO27 code when you check out to get your discount.

I hope this review gives you an idea of what Scribe can do and at the very least gives you reason to check it out for yourself.

A Note About Reviews

From time to time, I will review a product, book, or service that I have first-hand experience with. Some reviews here at DeliverBliss.com may include affiliate links (links that I will be meagerly compensated for if you purchase said product/book/service).

I do not endorse anything that hasn’t improved my life in some way and/or believe whole-heartedly that it can improve yours.
